Extra Curricular Activities

Chengelo offers a wide range of extra curricular activities, thanks to its unique location in the Mkushi farm block. As well as having the opportunity to get involved in the courses organised by Ndubaluba, Chengelo’s very own outdoor education centre, pupils are able to become acquainted with the local community through service clubs.
Our Christian Outreach Club enables our pupils to visit the local hospital, prison and surrounding villages, thus developing in them a heart for the less privileged.
The Anti-Aids Club is another means by which Chengelo pupils can interact with local schools and this encourages them to take seriously this major moral issue, which is having a huge impact on the country they live in.
As well as sports clubs, which help pupils make good use of their recreational time, we offer skills such as cookery, chess, crafts, dance and classical music appreciation.
An increasingly popular club is Drama Club, which puts on regular performances for parents and friends. This is open to all age groups and pupils audition for parts. This club trains our young people to perform to a large audience and it goes a long way in building self-confidence and team- work.
Speech Club also trains pupils to speak in public, a very important tool in the grooming of our future leaders. The banquets have been a highlight of this club and special guest speakers have included The First Lady, Mrs Maureen Mwanawasa, who impressed the guests with her abililty to speak impromptu.
