Ndubaluba Adventure Race

This weekend saw the eagerly awaited competition take place between Chengelo students, Local Farmers and Chengelo staff. This was of course our annual community adventure race.
The competition was tough with 6 Teams taking part in all. Stage one gave a quick lesson in raft building… sink or swim!!! Literally! Stage 2 gave a challenge on 2 wheels, a mountain bike for 7km through the bush, broken pedals and all. Stage 3 tested the most hard-core navigator from the aerial mast through nothing but bush to the pipe line road where the bikes were picked up again. The grand finish saw teams proudly plant their flag at the top of the climbing tower.
The day was completed with prizegiving, seeing Student team ‘buff’ take first place and an evening braai with good food and reminiscing of the day’s highlights.
