Mount Mumpu Expedition

Posted Sep 13, 2008

It’s challenge after challenge, sheer adrenalin, fun action and a test of true character and trust … all in 3 days!

The trip start off with survival fire making, river crossing, looking competitions, toilet making, team initiative challenge, team songs and war cries, team flags and of course a bath in the beautiful falls. All in preparation for “The Mumpu mission”. An 8km hike team through untamed bush to the base of this “giant”, followed by the mountain climb. A steep ascent, followed by further caving and scrambling amidst some of the most awesome views and then a gutsy push to the summit for many pushes ones faith, trust and courage to deeper levels.

Upon descending, the 8km return to Changwena base camp is an endurance test for teams where true opportunities for sacrifice and leadership are to be had.

Back at the base camp the reward treasure box, fun filled rock pool swims; rock-climbing and being fully immersed in God’s beautiful creation can draw many closer to a living God!
